Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: May 16, 2026 · NetTechnologys s.r.o.

01 Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") supplements our Terms of Service and defines what you may and may not do while using Code Indexer software and the codeindexer.dev website. It exists to keep the service safe and useful for everyone. By using Code Indexer you agree to follow this policy.

02 Prohibited activities

You may not use Code Indexer to: (a) reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of paid components beyond what is permitted by applicable law; (b) bypass licensing, rate limits, or authentication; (c) probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any system you do not own; (d) launch denial-of-service attacks or send automated traffic that disrupts service for others; (e) scrape the website at a rate that materially affects availability for legitimate users.

03 Prohibited content

You may not use Code Indexer to index, search, or generate: (a) malware, ransomware, or other malicious code intended to harm third parties; (b) content that infringes intellectual property rights you do not own or have permission to use; (c) child sexual abuse material; (d) material that violates applicable law in the jurisdiction where you operate.

04 Fair use

Free-tier limits exist so the service remains available to all users. Repeatedly creating new free accounts to evade the 3-project cap, or running the software in ways that materially exceed published technical limits, is not fair use.

05 Security research

Good-faith security research is welcome. See Security for the disclosure pipeline. Testing must be limited to your own infrastructure and accounts. Safe harbour: we will not pursue legal action or report to law enforcement against researchers who act in good faith and follow our disclosure policy — provided they avoid privacy violations, service degradation, and destruction or exfiltration of data that is not their own.

06 Reporting abuse

Suspected abuse, malware found in indexed content shared with us, or violations of this policy: [email protected]. Confidential security disclosures: [email protected].

07 Enforcement

Violations may result in warnings, rate limiting, suspension, or termination of access — with severity matching the violation. For paid tiers we will give written notice and a reasonable chance to cure where the violation is not egregious or unlawful.

08 Changes

We may update this AUP. Material changes will be announced at least 30 days before they take effect — by email to registered users and through prominent notice in the account dashboard. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
