codeindexer started as an internal tool — a way to stop watching AI agents re-read the same files, run grep against the same monorepo, and lose context between every session. We released a free tier for individuals and small teams when we realized every engineering team we talked to had the exact same problem.
We've each spent around twenty years building production systems — high-traffic platforms, complex backends, and the architecture underneath them. We think AI tooling deserves better than what's shipped so far — and we're building it locally, transparently, and with the controls real engineering organizations need.
